All that glitters is, sometimes, gold.
Here are some of the vintage

VALUE VILLAGE

NEEDS TO STOP INCREASING THEIR PRICES, REAL TALK.

Confession

I’ve donated back items I’ve thrifted.

One time I even donated clothing that had the thrift store tags on it still.

To be fair, those items were leftover items that didn’t sell.

Anyone else guilty of this?

YOLO…

I can actually tell where this item was made, from the quality of the print.

I find it hilarious that it has already ended up in a thrift store, I guess the kid who bought this moves on pretty fast from stupid trends.

Thrifted: Hell no!

We are Thrift Moguls, not 15 year old high schoolers who will buy any crewneck because it’s “vintage”. This wouldn’t even be vintage, you get the point.

Blue Jays memorabilia
I attended my first ever end of month auction at the Salvation Army because of this bad boy. Binder bid was $75, and that was already more than I wanted to spend. Regardless, the whole time before the auctioneer got to this bidding lot I thought to myself if I should go up to $100 or not.

Well someone bought the item for $320, so I guess my max bid wouldn’t have mattered anyways.

I didn’t end up buying anything that night, a lot of items went for higher than I wanted to pay and the auction itself went really slow. 1 hour in we were only 1/5 of the way so I decided to take off.

Maybe better luck next month.

captainessplaid asked: Where are you finding these prices?? I always go to Value Village and it's crazy expensive!

Hey! I am located in Toronto Ontario, that is where majority of our thrifting is done (Myself and my girlfriend). We’ve thrifted in New York though and would love to hit the road for bigger thrift trips. Where are you located? Any thrift secrets on your end?

What is your all time best thrift find?

Today I came across a documentary about thrifting a few girls had made for a high school project. They asked many of the usual questions about thrifting. Why do you like thrifting? How long have you been thrifting? Who introduced you to thrifting? etc.

One question that stuck was, “What is your all time best thrift find?”. Most people, who appeared to be regulars stumbled on that question and had to think about it. Even though we use this blog to showcase our best recent finds, I myself had to do some thinking.

A few of my past thrifts came to mind. One of my first ever thrift finds was The Beatles: Love Songs on vinyl for $2. One of my favorite pieces of clothing thrifted is a vintage Beaver Canoe grey hoodie that fits perfectly. I also love thrifting vintage Basketball jerseys. In my collection I have a nearly mint Michael Jordan jersey, Vince Carter Raptors jersey (Home and Away) and Jerome “Junk Yard Dog” Williams Raptors jersey (Home and Away). Today that LV Briefcase I thrifted also is in the running.

Even with all those great finds that came to mind, I don’t know what I would say is my best all time find. What about you Tumblr followers?
